Before hooking onto CS6000i, o tried two refurbished brother SMs but only to distress myself.... Refurbished ones did come in lower prices but certain accessories are held and they give some problems too in running. I would say, refurbished does save u some money, but only to put ur peace in trouble.

Bought this when the Singer I've used for 40 years finally died. I've used it extensively for a couple of years. Wanted a simple machine that sewed a nice straight line for quilting. As with any machine, you have to find the proper tension for thread and bobbin, but the trick is only using an all purpose thread. Skip the fancy threads or heavy duty and go with Coats and Clark All Purpose and you will have no problems. If it starts to lock down, clean out the lint around the bobbin and re-thread. Make sure the machine is still threaded and you will be good to go. Good little machine for quilting and light weight to carry around.

I purchased this machine for my 9 year old. I initially had trouble with the tension. I called Brother and they walked me through correcting the issue. (Shutting the machine off completely and just re-threading it.) Worked like a charm! Set the tension to "5" and leave it there! Works great and my daughter loves it. Super easy for her to handle!

I really like this machine, I needed to replace my old 70s kenmore, but didn't want to spend the money on a Janome, since I only sew a few times a yearâ¦. but I wanted something with some special stitches⦠I researched and read reviewsâ¦.and in the end decided on this machine. I have used it about 10 times so far but I have no complaints. It has even stitched through some thick layers, which I don't think it is meant to doâ¦so that was a nice surprise. Basically, I bought this machine so I could have more stitch function than a basic machine, but not pay the money to get a good Janome or other such brand. I am very pleased. Of note, the automatic needle button is just for making the needle stop at the end of a stitch cycle⦠it does not automatically lower the needle when you press it like some higher end machines, which I thought this would do when I was reading the reviews. I would recommend this machine to a beginner to novice sewer, as that Is what I am, but I can't speak to those with more experience.

I've had a lot of vacuum cleaners, but this one is my favorite! Great for hardwood floors, and perfect for all rugs because of the 5 floor settings. I am glad I didn't read all the reviews online before buying this vacuum this week. I had an older dirt devil that wasn't working good anymore so I found this one & I love it. Works great for me. I use it on my huge area rug. My rug is dark blue and I have 3 dogs and a cat & it looks brand new every time I vacuum it! I even used it on my bare floor with no issue of it blowing stuff everywhere. I also love that it is bagless! Its super easy to put together & to dump out all the dirt & hair!

I am new to sewing and I looked at a lot of machines and decided on this one. I couldn't be more happy with my choice. It is easy to use, it has a lot of features and I don't feel overwhelmed. I am not a good seamstress, I am very much a beginner, but the varying stitches offered and functions of this machine have made projects easy and I can make them look pretty fancy! I had a Brother previously, and when mine died after more than 20 years with no problems up to then, I bought this machine. I just love it!! Technology has made some things easier on the new machine. Love seeing when the bobbin is almost empty. I did find that it is easier to thread the needle myself rather than use the automatic threader. Love the quilting platform; didn't have problems with the legs folding as some others said (you just can't lean on it). Absolutely LOVE the automatic tension adjustment. That's probably my favorite new thing. Instructions were exceptionally clear; I didn't even need to use the DVD. Have not gotten into all the fancy stitches yet, but am looking forward to trying some since the seem so easy to use. I had no issues and would wholeheartedly recommend this machine to a newbie or ore advanced seamstress.

I bought this sewing machine last year--I know how to sew basic things. This machine was easy to sew right from the box, I was sewing small projects in no time. I've not had any of the problems some of these other reviewers have talked about. I thought it would be harder because it was a computerized but so far have not had any problems at all. I like mine and I'm glad I didn't read the negative reviews. Read the directions and watch the dvd that comes with this sewing machine. When you get that error message, just turn it off and turn it back on. It is different than a manual machine, but I don't regret buying this particular singer sewing model. Works great!!

I recently purchased this sewing machine and am so far very pleased with it. I do sew quite often, and took to this with ease. I did not experience any of the issues that I read from the reviews, but I am sure everyone's experience with this will be different based on the level of experience and care in usage, etc. This is obviously not an industrial strength sewing machine, but in my opinion lives up to my standards for what I need it for - mostly for making my little ones dresses.

I needed a sewing machine for my sewing class that was lightweight and portable. When it arrived it was both of those things. It's a fun color and it sews really good. I was worried the bobbin tension wouldn't be good but it stitches great! However, the material of the machine is plasticy, making it feel like a toy. And it doesn't have a stitch length dial. The spool pin is short in length so whenever I put a thread it makes a lot of rattling noise (however, that's not a big deal). This is great for kids and for people who don't want a fancy machine.

I used the Brother SM2700 sewing machine to do several projects. The sewing machine was provided to me free of charge to try and evaluate. I found the sewing machine to be reliable and easy to use. I sewed a dress for my grand daughter and a pair of pajama bottoms for my husband. I have washed both items several times and they have held up very well. The sewing machine stitched several layers with ease. The stitches were very uniform and well made. Changing the foot was easy. I particularly like the metal boot that the foot connects to. I have a `Viking` sewing machine that has a rubber foot that has stretched and needed replacing. With the metal boot that will not be a problem. I was a little concerned with the plastic presser foot lever. When I saw it was plastic I thought it might be easily broken. It has been very effective and I am now convinced that it should not be a problem. I used the buttonhole foot and the zipper attachment. They were easy to attach and were simple to use. I was not able to thread the machine with the needle threader. Following the thread guide to fill the bobbin and to thread the machine by hand was very easy. I tried all of the stitches. It was not difficult to change from one unique built in stitch to another. I was pleased with the feel of the feed guide and the foot controller. I changed the needle with the round screw driver that is provided. I do prefer the screw drivers that are longer for better control. The drop in bobbin is a simple procedure and takes less time and effort than front end bobbins. I did not encounter any problems when attaching a decorative boarder on the dress. I followed the directions for the blind hem. It was a convenient time saver. I am pleased with the performance of the Brother SM2700 sewing machine. I am planning to teach my 7 year old granddaughter to sew on this machine.

Only a few selection of stitch patterns but does the job. Great for quick jobs. Very easy to use. The dogs are superb and very little guidance is needed. It's light and portable, plus cute enough that I don't mind it sitting out on a table all the time. I use this sewing machine for everything from making clothing, making sturdy wallets and clutches, quilts, and almost anything in between. It's perfect! The extended table makes it so easy for larger projects and the fact that you can take off a section of the table to make sewing things like sleeves and pants a breeze! The decorative embellishments are also amazing. There have been a few reviews stating that you need to take it into a shop to be oiled... but the fact is that it shouldn't even need oiling. If it does then it comes with a little brush and oil just in case, even then the bobbin area comes apart very easily with no tools needed so self maintenance is a breeze, again when necessary which I don't foresee having to do any maintenance aside from checking it anytime my family and I move. I've had this machine for a few months and let me tell you that it's worth every penny.

I just took the machine out and have only whipped together a quick window valance, so far it is amazing! I upgraded from my Brother 6000 to this. I received a free sample of a sewing machine to review. As a whole I felt that the machine was very user friendly. I especially liked the easy feed bobbin feature. The manual was complete and easy to understand.The knobs were clearly marked and coordinated with the book. At first I had some trouble getting the tension correct but with the help of the manual I was able to problem solve quickly. I did have some concerns with the clear plastic foot plate, I am not sure how well that will hold up over time. I like that it is clear and you can see through it however it felt cheap to me in comparison to the machine overall. There are many things that this machine can do and being that it is so user friendly I am confident that I will have no trouble mastering new skills with my new machine. I have purchased several affordable machines and was unable to get the same quality as I have from this machine.

I just finish a project on this machine I received as a free sample to use for this review. It is a very nice sewing machine. I have several other machine and love the way this one stitches. One of the best features is the way the bobbin thread comes up in the machine. When you make the first stitch the bobbin thread is pulled up into the machine. It works the first time and every time! No more fussing trying to get both the bobbin thread and needle thread to pull up through the machine. It also has a nice needle threader which is wonderful if you have a vision problem that make seeing the eye of the needle difficult. Lots of wonderful features on this sewing machine but those two are my favorite. It takes away the frustration and lets me enjoy sewing.

I bought this because I am a hello kitty fan and I'm just learning to sew. It's so cute! Makes using it so much fun :) Although I liked the color and style of the other teal colored HK sewing machine, I had to get this one cuz it comes with more feet and seems like a more regular sized sewing machine. It's also cheaper too, for some reason. So far I have sewed two sets of throw pillows and a baby blanket with this. It's so easy to use... now I'm looking forward to learning to sew more things!

The pattern is cute and the material seemed to be good quality, but I ended up returning this item because it was much smaller than I thought it would be.
