I bought this item on sale, and it was a good deal for the price. My three-year-old grandson is fascinated with cows and farms, so I got him the barn and some farm animals by Terra. His face lit up when he saw it, and he spent the rest of the night playing with that one toy--didn't want to open any more of the gifts from family. His only objection: "Where's the farmer?" The company doesn't make any human figures to go with it, that I could see. My only objection: it was difficult to assemble. First, there were no written instructions, only pictures that were sometimes difficult to see. Second, the walls took so much force to snap into the base that I thought we would break something. But now that it's together, it seems very sturdy.

I was not super impressed with this item; it did not match the picture. The box the horses were in was red (not yellow as shown) and the two horses whose feet were supposed to be white (bottom right corner and middle brown & white one) had PINK feet. I thought maybe it was a fluke and actually returned it and reordered, but the second one was the same. Some of the horses also had weird-shaped faces and weren't very cute. I kept the second one - it is for a non-picky toddler to play with - but this was my first bad experience with Melissa & Doug (or Target products in general) and I was not impressed.

The product is very complex, with over 1000 pieces. We used the directions, but viewed each section of steps on a video. I personally believe the video is key. This project encouraged cooperative work.There are so many pieces and steps the children divided the work according to what each is comfortable doing. No one is ever left feeling at loose ends. Even with this project going smoothly, it has taken us 15 hours JUST to complete construction.

Wow. We received this item free as part of a BzzAgent campaign, and we couldn't have felt luckier. Such a neat building product with a cool final result. If you have ever spent time building a Lego toy, you have a good idea what the instructions look like...pictures of each step with a little explanation. The box comes with all the parts nicely separated inside. Make sure you keep track of all the different bold and screws and what size they are; some are very close in size and it can get confusing and worrisome if you use the wrong part in the beginning and have to try and switch it out later on. My 12-year-old son was able to help with some of the building, but my husband did most - either because it was too difficult or my son was just bored by then. It does take awhile so we spread it out over 3 days, doing a little each day.

We were amazed at what the G15 could do from playback of what we programmed or from the functions on the app that we downloaded on our smartphones. My 8 year old horse crazy daughter got this barn from Santa for Christmas. Unfortunately, it arrived from the "North Pole" in a huge box on my front porch clearly labelled in large letters on all sides as to the contents and she is a good reader. Also the glue from the labels is impossible to remove and the barn has a habit of flying open when you try to carry it spilling horses and gates out everywhere because there is no latch to keep it folded. We love playing with this set. My 3.5 year old really enjoys giving everyone a check up. I really like how many pieces this set comes with and it's of good quality. I also love the carrying case it comes in. The doctors name tag and pager that actually works with batteries is a nice touch. All that is missing is a jacket. We've enjoyed this set. We have the mix and measure one too. The magnifying glass is just fun to have. The dropper is easy to use--even my two-year-old can. The experiment cards are easy to follow, but I wish there was an overall list of groceries to buy to add to the kit--baking soda, oil, etc. I had most of them, but didn't have primary color food coloring or enough lemon juice. It would be nice too if the cards had pictures so kids who can't yet read well could follow the steps. The test tubes could use measurements on them too--pouring from the two little into the one big is a good task for conservation of substances. We've enjoyed the kit and think it was worth the money.

Got a set of three of these and a single bird for Christmas. This was sort of the black horse of Christmas this year. We didn't realize what a hit they would be with all our kids (boys and girls ranging 2-9 years old). We've played with them a lot the past few days and noticed no signs of weak battery life. These birds whistle when you blow on them and sing songs solo or as a choir if you whistle at them. You can "get" additional songs if you install the app and select songs for your birds to sing from their website: digibirds{dot}com. My grandchildren (age 6 and 4) loved these. Unfortunately, they didn't keep singing. I purchased them from Target and returned the first one, exchanging it for another. The next one worked a couple of times, so I got another, since I have 2 grandchildren. They sang together once and never again. And then, they weren't singing individually, either. They were never mistreated, yet failed to perform as they should. Great idea, just needs to work better.

My daughter is 19 months and had plenty of other stuffed animals that she never touched, but as soon as "pockets" arrived, she gave him a big hug and carries him everywhere. This is the neatest gadget I have discovered- EVER!! If you have a large computer screen it is SUPER awesome. This is for my 10 year old daughter- but everyone in the family loves it. I am extraordinarily pleased with these. I was a bit taken aback when I read the other comment about the horses having genitalia, and then I used common sense and realized that real horses have genitalia too. I collect horse figurines as a hobby. Other brands such as Schleich, Papo, Breyer, and Safari have horses and other animals displaying genitalia, and I don’t see why it’s such a problem. They’re just realistic. These horses are great and adorable. I would recommend them.

When I decided to purchase this item for my son I thought that it was bigger because of the way it was packaged. It looks like it's all one piece, but it's not. There is one piece that it only a cardboard filler for cosmetic packaging and another piece that is only a cardboard box. This piece can be exchanged with the other cardboard boxes that fit inside the actual plastic boxes. The kit only has 2 of these but you can purchase more separately, which is something we will need to do to get more use from this toy. It would've been nice if it would've come with the parrot as well since this was a box that was included with it.

I received this toy free from Target in exchange for a review. This is an adorable castle that plays music. This is a three tiered castle that comes with two ponies, Star Song and Pinky Pie. This toy must be assembled when you first take it out of the box, there are a total of 11 pieces. All of the pieces snapped together with ease, but were sturdy enough that once assembled you won't have to worry about anything coming apart when your kid plays with it. On the bottom teir there is a door that opens and closes, an elevator that goes to the second teir, and a carousel that plays music when it spins. On the second teir level there is the lever that makes the carousel spin, a fold down bed and a slide, when the bed is folded down music plays, the opposite side of the bed has a The third teir has two balconies that the ponies can sit on perfectly. The ponies have holes underneath so that they can sit securely on the carousel when it spins without falling off. I really like that the pieces still operate on the set even without the batteries in place. The batteries will also last longer because the music is the only battery operated feature on the castle. Overall my child loves the castle and stays entertained for a long time.

Seems to be very well made, I must inform you I received this product as a free sample to do a review. The little figurines are made of soft form and would be safe for a child to play with. No small parts so there is not chocking hazards. CONS: I must say the only thing I did not like about the product is the heart flag on top of the castle peak, there is nothing to securely hold it on, it is just sitting on there and can be easily taken off and lost. I would purchase this product as a gift or for a my own child. It seems to keep the kids entertained and occupied while teaching them how to share and develop fine motor skills.

I received a free sample of the Playskool Friends Musical Celebration Castle and as a fan of my Little Pony it was a big hit. I loved all the bright girlie pinks and purple colors that are displayed on the castle. It also comes with two ponies that are just the right sizes for little hands. I enjoy all the sounds that it has and I like that its not overly stimulating. However I do wish that there had been some lights on the rainbow or just some twinkling somewhere on the toy. I like how you can be either interactive with the toy by pressing down and having them turn or if you just want to make up your own story you can do that as well. Overall I am very happy with this toy it was not hard to put together it took less than 5 minutes and did not require any tools.

Have only had this a few weeks but so far, so good. My son uses it for everything from timing computer video games to homework and reading. The size is perfect, not too small and not too big. The only negative is that it only beeps once when time is up. The red light keeps flashing, but it would be nice to have a longer sound notification.
