Original collaboration years — 1999–2013

Our first and longest-lasting design partnership began in 1999 with architect and designer Michael Graves. With more than 2,000 memorable items following his innovative Spinning Whistle Teakettle, Graves led the way in elevating the everyday through an inspired balance of form and function.

Bobby Berk

Before being the resident design guru on Netflix’s Queer Eye, Bobby Berk was a Michael Graves fan. When Berk discovered Graves’ Target collection as a kid, he realized that design has the power to make people happy. Since then, he’s worked (and succeeded) at bettering lives through great, accessible design.

Beginning his profession as an Industrial Designer and model builder for Michael Graves, Donald Strum is now the company’s Principal of Product, Furniture, & Graphic Design. Over the course of his career, Strum has worked on major products and projects—but one of his proudest moments was bringing about the democratization of design through our partnership, in which he was instrumental.

“It’s the way a well-designed tea kettle reminds you to have a cup and slow down.”
